Day 6

The only way to be anxious about nothing is to be prayerful about everything. Instead of worrying about finances, relationships, your circumstances or your future, make your worry list your prayer list and leave your worries in God’s hands. The good news is that when we choose to be prayerful and thankful the peace of God will guard our hearts and minds.

Day 5

God doesn’t want us to spend our lives looking backwards, He wants us to reach forward to what lies ahead. Instead of dwelling on the past, whether it’s past successes or past failures, let’s focus on Jesus, His calling and the people He wants us to reach.

Day 4

Paul told the Philippians that the duty of all Christians is that they be joyful. A long-faced Christian is the worst advertisement for Christianity. The world doesn’t want a greater burden; it wants a light heart. How can a Christian be joyful in a world so full of sorrow? Paul tells us in Philippians 3:1, “Rejoice in the Lord!”

Day 3

The Apostle Paul never separated knowledge from action. In this passage, Paul exhorted his readers to ‘work out their salvation’ and do all things ‘without grumbling or disputing’ because when we do, we’ll be lights in a dark world. In other words, instead of focusing on trying to change the circumstances around you, focus on embracing the character that God’s trying to build in you.

Day 2

Throughout the book of Philippians, the Apostle Paul mentioned Jesus nearly 40 times. In Chapter 2, Paul makes it clear that Jesus is our example, that we should imitate Him and that He’s not only Lord of all, He became a servant to all. So, in these 11 verses, Christians are encouraged to be a servants and not only consider their own needs but the needs of others.

Day 1

The Book of Philippians is known as the ‘Book of Joy’. In fact, the Apostle Paul used the words ‘joy’ and ‘rejoice’ more than a dozen times throughout this Epistle. Even though Paul’s circumstances weren’t ideal (since he was under arrest at the time) he was full of joy and thankfulness and demonstrated that true joy isn’t based on circumstances, it's based on a relationship with Jesus and living with the right perspective.
